WHAT WE DO AND WHY WE DO IT
Too many Massachusetts workers lack meaningful access to justice.
-
Most people do not understand workplace law or the legal process.
-
There are scarce affordable options for workers with most legal problems, especially those who need help to stay employed.
-
Low-income workers cannot afford to pay law-firm hourly rates, and most do not have attractive contingency-fee matters.
-
Thousands file employment-related claims every year in Massachusetts without counsel.
To address these problems, we:
> offer information and guidance about workplace legal rights.
> provide self-help tools to workers navigating the legal system.
> collaborate with other organizations to provide or arrange additional services, when possible.
> offer community education.
